Eden is a sanctuary that exists at the nexus of technology and nature. Designed for the youth of today and tomorrow, the space seeks to reflect the contemporary cultural values of sustainability and preservation that young people champion today. Inspired by organic forms and systems of the natural world, Eden becomes a living environment that sustains life while blending technological expression.
From a 19th-century blacksmith’s shop to horse shed to taxi office to artist studio to single family residence, this historical space is reimagined once again in a dystopian future where technology and humanity is intertwined in a high-tech and low-life world. Drawing from the cyberpunk aesthetic of the video game Cyberpunk 2077, [SYS-40R] is a reimagination of the 40r Laneway House where the building itself becomes a hybrid of memory and machine, past and future - a symbol for technological dystopia and utopia.
